This is my first experience with a digital and boy am I having fun...picture don't look to suit me, just hit the delete button.
I was trying to find out how I could put a copyright on my photos, and found a wonderful place to upload photos...make albums...add text, graphics etc. Check out photoshop.com
My site is http://cloudlady09.photoshop.com/
Check it out and give me feedback. I have 2 albums started and will probably continue adding more as spring gets warmer and I will be spending more time outdoors.
Until next time.................

Outdoor finds
After the party we went exploring and found some neat things.
1. Acorn caps
2.Electrical wire with a tree grown around it
3.Unusual rock formations and colors around an old stump.
4. Half circle of rocks...wonder what that was?
5. The favorite of the day was the dirt bank beside the building. A perfect place for little boys to slide on. From the looks of the bank they slid a lot. I know some mommies were upset over the dirty clothes.

Snow Day No School Day
Today is the day after the snow...that tried to shut the state down...did a pretty fair job from the weather reports from across the state.
No school, so we had two of the 10 grand children here for the day. It was too cold to be outside playing in the snow so being a bit of a crafter, I decided to show them a few things....I used empty cardboard egg cartons, empty cardboard paper towel holders, construction paper, craft buttons and lots of glue and tape.
We made a variety of things including a homemade kazoo, a totem pole, homemade bird feeders, and a jelly bean basket for mommy and daddy.
The internet is a wonderful tool, if you like to craft, just go searching for things you want to create and someone has the instructions out there, just waiting to be utilized.
Nap time is finally here, so I'm taking a break to share some of the adventures of my day.
Stay safe and warm, until next time.

May get out tomorrow and make a snowman with the grandkids....haven't done that in a while. There will be no school for a couple of days I'm sure and PaPa is a babysitter when there isn't any,,,,Granny had to work this weekend so I will be here with my babies tomorrow...will have to see what kind of trouble we can get into.

Stormy
Strom clouds hanging over Phoenix Mt. bringing rain, thunder, some hail...Wow and it is only February. Old folks used to say if we had a thunder storm in February then we could expect a frost on that same day in May. I have marked my calendar,,,we will see.........I don't doubt the word of the farmers of old, but it would be nice to prove that the text book version of science isn't always correct. Will post the results in May..so stay tuned....
Does that sound familiar? Just when your favorite TV show is getting good,,,,the producers choose that moment to end the season and you have to wait for months to see what happens. Thats' life folks,,and most of the time life is worth waiting for...despite the bumps in the road.
Stay safe and keep in out of the storm.

Sunday Visit
The babies stopped by for an unexpected visit..always lovely to see them. The little ones grow up so fast and change so quickly one can miss out on a lot if they don't visit for some time. Little Kailey is starting to jabber,,no one knows exactly what she is saying, but it is so much fun hearing her talking. She loves my cat Bella, and really enjoyed the fact that she was allowed to pet her for a short time. Bella isn't a children's cat..she usually hides when the kids are here, so it was a treat to see her and Kailey together.
My mom and dad taught me that reading would take me anywhere I wanted to go, and that laughter was good medicine for the soul...looks like little Kailey is learning young...she and Mom and Franny were reading Dora the Explorer..don't know what was so funny but she was having the time of her life.
Love it when the babies can laugh and glad to know that she is wanting to read already. Takes after granny......you think?

The Chocolate Drops
I just found an exciting group called "the chocolate drops", playing old time blues, bluegrass. These guys are the tops...bringing back memories of sitting round my grandparents potbelly stove or on the front porch listening to the community musicians. They always came to grandma's house to play,,,the house would overflow with the sounds of a fiddle, banjo, guitar and whatever instrument someone played.

Open Heart
"An open home, an open heart, here grows a bountiful harvest.--Judy Hand"
The above quote describes my friend Linda. She is known as blueridge boomer to the blogging world, but she is one of the most wonderful ladies I have met in quite sometime. (Don't get the big head).
She quilts, knits, crochets, cans all sorts of veggies, and what does she do with part of her bounty? She shares with the community, her friends and family..Pretty open hearted if you ask me. God will definitely place an extra star in her crown.
While I enjoy the snowy days, (taken from my front door 1/19/09) I will use Miss Linda's veggies to enhance a pot of stew, or my husband's homemade chili. The pickles will taste wonderful with any meal.

Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! Its Cold out side Baby
Temps have been in the zero degree range for the past few days,, (note the pic of the ice in the river) just now in the 20's and it feels like a heat wave, but we have ice this am,,no traveling today. Planning on staying in, stewing a pot of homemade soup and reading some good book, (if I can find one I haven't read) or working on my Sudoku Puzzle book.

Mountain Sunset in Winter
Update on my Christmas request
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray....Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;....The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5: 13-16
I just wanted to take this moment to thank everyone for the prayers you have sent up for my wonderful mother-in law. She had surgery on her neck yesterday 1/12/2009..the disc between the vertebrae had deteriorated and was causing pressure on her spinal column causing the paralysis. She came thru the surgery with flying colors and is doing so well that the Dr. made the decision to let her come home today1/13/2009...after telling us that he wanted her to stay for at least 3 days maybe 4, then go thru therapy for several days.
Please continue to pray for this wonderful lady as she makes her recovery.
